The Canadian Rockies are famous for their champagne powder, spectacular scenery and some of the most consistent snow conditions in the world. Banff is located 1.5 hrs north of Calgary and offers an extremely lively ski town right in the thick of the action. The majority of coaching takes place at Sunshine Village, just 20 minutes from downtown Banff. Reputed for offering some of the most extreme in-bounds freeride areas in North America, alongside having some of the driest, lightest, powder in the world, Sunshine Village has something for everyone.  

The Ski School has a reputation for providing amazing instructors and we ensure we get the crème de la crème to take you forward to hero status by the end of the course. You’ll be coached through your CSIA/CASI Level 1 and 2 Assessment and spend time improving on and off-piste skiing performance, as well as developing your own coaching skills.

Highlights from previous courses have been descents of the extreme freeride zones ‘Delirium Dive and ‘Wild West’, early morning high speed top-gun turns on the corduroy groomers of ‘The Great Divide’, and late afternoon adventures in the lesser known ‘Secret Canyons’. Included in the programme are day trips to local resorts Lake Louise and Kicking Horse. Lake Louise offers a large ski area with plenty of steeps and Kicking Horse offers couloirs and plenty of challenging terrain to test those finely honed new skills. Other options include heli-skiing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding and the ever popular trip to Calgary to see the Calgary Flames play ice hockey. Banff itself offers a variety of restaurants, shops and bars, with regular live music and club nights to suit all tastes. Irwin’s Mountain Inn will be your home from home for the duration of the course - 5 minutes walk from downtown with large twin rooms, satellite TV, hot-tub, gym and amazing staff. Included in the course, we eat five nights per week in a variety of restaurants downtown, including ‘Wild Bills’ with their legendary Bison Ribs, and ‘The Elk and Oarsman’ with their spectacular Elk Burger.
