With the TEFL Scotland weekend course you will be able to find paid or voluntary English teaching jobs abroad, like countless others before you.

TEFL Scotland weekend courses are designed with the first time teacher in mind. The course includes all the principles of English Language Teaching (ELT) and squeezes them into one fun weekend.

The courses are run at locations throughout Scotland. The courses run 9am - 8pm on Saturday and 9am - 6pm on Sunday.

The course is designed to put you in the shoes of language learners, so you will be participating right from the start - you don't get to sit quietly behind a desk for 20 hours!

Here's what you will learn on the course and what it invloves:

Saturday (9am  - 8pm)Unit 1 - WarmersIntroducing yourself, getting to know each other, reducing inhibitions.

Unit 2 - Classroom managementArranging the classroom and managing your students.

Unit 3 - Getting the students to speakInventive ways to elicit from the students, using pictures, mime and gesture

Unit 4 - Introduction to grammarA first look at some of the English tenses. What is the Present Perfect exactly?

Unit 5 - Foreign language lessonA beginners� lesson: find out what it's like to be on the receiving end.

Unit 6 - Controlled Practice Practice activities: why we use them and some ideas for the classroom

Unit 7 - Free Practice Using role play and other activities to bring your lessons to life.

Unit 8 - GamesHow games can improve the learning experience.

Unit 9 - More warmersMore ideas for the classroom

Unit 10 - FunctionsTeaching everyday English words and phrases.

Unit 11 - Lesson planning, preparation & practiceHow to plan a TEFL lesson & giving your first lesson
