Job Details
YSE employs a number of Chalet Chefs who work alongside our Chalet Assistants (sorry, all the Chalet Assistant positions have been filled!).
Our chefs are responsible for menu planning, shopping, budgeting, cooking and cleaning their kitchens. The standard of food we provide is very high and would be worthy of being served in most top restaurants. You must be capable of producing delicious 3 and 4 course evening meals. All applicants must have both qualifications and/or a great deal of experience. Please do not apply if you have only just completed a cooking course or are about to embark on one.
YSE is the Val d'Isère specialist. Although we have 21 chalets in the village, more than any of our competitors, we are and always will be a small firm. We specialise in providing fantastic food, service and travel arrangements in chalets that vary in size and standard of accommodation.
We run a 2-3 week in-chalet training course at the end of November. This is not a cooking course but is to ensure that our staff are fully prepared and know everything there is to know about Val d'Isère before the seasons begins.
While working for YSE you are paid monthly in arrears in the UK, and provided with lodging, a lift pass covering Val d'Isère and Tignes for the entire season, certain items of uniform, the use of skis, boots and poles or snowboards for the season, insurance and travel to and from resort.
In order to work for YSE you must hold a UK (or EU) passport and National Insurance number. We are also looking for applicants with a cheerful, friendly and sensible personality, who can work well as a team and individually.
We also employ chalet staff who work alone cooking and cleaning in our smaller chalets and couples who share the cooking and cleaning responsibilities.
Come to Val d'Isere, make lots of new friends and ski/snowboard almost every day for five months on some of the best slopes in the world!
