We are looking for Temporary Sales Consultants to join our European and North American & Tailor Made Sales Team. The contract offered will be until the end of March but there is potential for the right candidate to continue after this date.This role would be ideal for a keen skier or boarder with some knowledge of ski resorts, looking to start or continue a career in the travel industry with one of the UK's leading ski tour operators.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: European and Tailor-Made Sales Consultant
Reporting to: European and Tailor-Made Team Leader
Objectives/Role:
- Maximise sales (income and passenger numbers) for all divisions in line with business targets ensuring quick responses to telephone calls, high standards of customer care and accurate data entry.
- Working primarily within the Tailor-Made Sales Team, depending on levels of demand you may be required to respond to European enquires.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to sales enquiries and reservations with accuracy and speed in line with personal and departmental targets.
- Ensure high standards of customer care when dealing with clients from time of booking until return.
- Maximise income from sales calls in line with agreed targets.
- Generate sales through proactive sales calls, and post holiday follow-up calls.
- Ensure all holiday costings are recorded accurately and priced in line with company business targets.
- Ensure all client documentation is accurate and in line with business standards.
- Maintain high levels of product knowledge for all programmes.
- Ensure efficient sales administration and after sales service on all bookings in line with high standards of customer care.
- Responsible for preparation and attendance of ski shows, educationals and other promotional events in order to maximise sales.
- Other duties as agreed with the Tailor-Made Team Leader.
Considerations
A normal week (5 days) includes Saturday and Sundays. During January/February, this may involve working 6 day weeks. Lieu days are to be taken in agreement with your line manager. Lieu dates and holidays cannot be taken between 1st January and 16th February. Shifts will be on a rota basis and spread between 8.30 and 19.30. There will also be nights away from home for promotional events or educationals.
Person Specification
Essential:
- A keen skier or boarder.
- A strong sales person with a fantastic telephone manner.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook programs.
- Customer focused and able to offer the highest possible standards of customer service.
- Target focused.
- Knowledge of ski resorts.
- A positive and friendly attitude is required to work and interact as part of a team.
- Attention to detail is of utmost importance so must be able to work with very high levels of accuracy and to strict time deadlines.
- Ability to organise workload and prioritise efficiently to achieve desired objectives.
- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure when required.
- Strong numerical skills.
Desirable:
- Previous sales experience.
- CRS experience (Galileo or Worldspan).
- Previous experience in a customer focused environment such as reservations/telesales.
- To have worked for a ski tour operator in a European or North American resort.
- A working knowledge of the Travel/Ski/Flights industry.
