Vacancy: Industrial placement programme
Company: Ernst & Young
Category: Gap year in industry (General, Business & Finance)
Salary: Competitive

We offer 12-month placements in a number of our offices, enabling students to take on a role similar to that of a new graduate.
Working within Audit & Assurance, Tax, Corporate Finance (Transaction Advisory Services), Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS), Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) or Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services – Legal Technology Services (FIDS - LTS), you will get real work experience, an insight into Ernst & Young and the opportunity to expand your knowledge of a career in professional services.
Depending on your chosen service line, you will be supported to study two professional accountancy exams (Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland). Combined with your year of qualifying work experience, you could qualify as a chartered accountant within two years of graduation.

In addition, you can expect:
- Technical training relevant to your business unit
- Personal development and soft skills training
- Opportunity to shadow senior members of the firm
- Continuous constructive feedback and appraisal

The programme enables you to experience what life is like here, and helps you increase your business understanding and develop a wide range of professional and personal skills. From day one, you’ll be working on real client projects and you’ll be involved in a variety of work across a range of industry sectors.
Placements are usually undertaken by undergraduates as part of their degree course in the penultimate year, or by those who choose to incorporate a year’s work experience into their course.

Why join?

- Build contacts and networks within Ernst & Young
- Work with a variety of clients, develop your skills and make a real contribution
- Opportunity to become a university ambassador during your final year
- Receive support with your final year project
- Reduce your student debt
