Job Details

A Cruise Ship Youth Programme Manager is responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of all onboard youth and teen programmes, which include a range of fun activities and sports, to children aged between 2 to 18yrs. The onboard children’s programme activity sessions include a wide variety of activities including everything from sports and games to arts and crafts, team building and drama games.

 Cruise ship youth programme managers report to the Entertainment Director and as well as coordinating youth programmes have involvement with other duties on board the cruise ships as needed, such as embarkation and disembarkation, muster station duties, welcome shows and greeting families.

 Cruise Ship Youth Programme Manager - Skills Match 

• Educated to a minimum of degree level• At minimum of five years experience in the sport and recreation or childcare industry, with experience of administration in these areas.• Experience of working with children of all ages is essential, along with a high level of customer service, motivation, commitment and excellent organisational skills.• Ideal candidates would be able to communicate effectively in one language in addition to English, although not a necessity• Ideal candidates should have experience managing and training a staff team, preferably in a childcare or recreation setting

 

Cruise Ship Youth Programme Manager - Job Details

• Positions usually 6 months onboard, 2 months off rotation• Must be able to work 7 days a week on a shift rotation

• Wages up to $2400 per month

 

Cruise Ship Youth Programme Manager - Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Youth and Teen Passengers while participating in the Youth and Teen Programmes• Responsible for the supervision of all Youth and Teen Counselors, including their punctuality, attire, conduct and professional development• Schedules, Implements and (hosts) Family Programming Activities• Hosts Youth Program Welcome Aboard Social• Develops and implements all activities for Youth Programs• Creates activity booklet for 2-12 yr age groups• Ensure accuracy of all printed materials for Youth Programs• Ensures all printed materials are sent in a timely manner• Storage, Maintenance and Inventory of all equipment, supplies, gifts and prizes for the Youth/Teen Programs• Schedules all Youth Counselors for Embarkation and according to activity demands and/or maximum number of hours expected per Fleet Program Youth Supervisor Turn in Weekly Voyage Reports, Staff Schedules, and Participation Reports in a timely manner• Must attend Teen Counselor evaluation session with Youth Programme Administrator• Primary leader for boat drill
