Join our five week expedition to Nepal and Tibet and discover the hidden communities and precious national parks in these two mountain countries.

On arrival in Kathmandu volunteers are collected from the airport before starting their week long orientation and Nepali language course. With some language, and a better understanding of the people and culture under their belts, volunteers move down to the ten day project with the Rural Communities Development Programme (RCDP). Here the work can be in construction, teaching or conservation, but whatever job is chosen all volunteers live with a Nepali family, allowing ample opportunity to practice the language and learn more about the rural communities.

As volunteers wave goodbye to the village they head to the Royal Chitwan National Park where a few days are spent enjoying elephant back safaris, visiting an elephant breeding centre, rafting and trying to spot the endangered Bengal Tiger. From the National Park the journey starts over one of the world’s highest plateaus to Tibet, and its capital Lhasa.

After exploring Lhasa and the surrounding areas volunteers return to Kathmandu via Everest Base Camp.

If you would like to connect this expedition with a five week expedition in India where volunteers learn Hindi, work in an orphanage for three weeks and travel the Golden Triangle, this can be added on as an extension, or done separately.
