Journalism and Media Work in Accra, Ghana

If you're interested in journalism or the media, this project gives you a valuable insight into the industry while helping to support under-funded newspapers, TV networks and radio stations. Working alongside local journalists will give you a genuine and diverse taste of the environment in which you are reporting, and you will no doubt cover a number of eye-opening issues unique to your host country.

Good literary and communication skills will make you a worthwhile member in any team. Editing, copywriting, reporting, interviewing and researching are all possible roles that you might adopt. You will also be working alongside some of Ghana's leading journalists and reporters who are there to offer you guidance throughout your placement.

We also encourage you to get involved with schools and sports academies to teach classes in media, creative writing and the basics of journalism. You may also have the chance to oversee the production of a newspaper created by the children. This will be an excellent chance for you to give something back to the community and to mix with Ghana's ambitious youngsters.
