How we work and what we do
We’ve spent years developing relationships with our partners overseas – volunteer projects, tour operators, world class tour language schools and reliable in-country workers alike. All share a common goal: to provide you with a truly amazing travel experience that ensures you’ll contribute to a long-term, sustainable project. If you go on a volunteering trip with i-to-i you can rest assured that the project you join is not paying anything to us for our service or towards the cost of your participation.
This final point is vital, as many projects that we work with could not afford to recruit and train the foreign volunteers which they rely on to survive. We are not a charity, we are an ethical business striving to help people in the developing world.
In the last 12 months i-to-i has:
• Helped 5,000 people volunteer at worthwhile projects in 23 countries
• Trained 15,000 people to Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and assisted them in finding jobs as far afield as Cambodia, China, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Nepal, Poland and Spain.
• Raised US$130 000 through our charity arm, the i-to-i Foundation, to buy much-needed materials for vital projects around the world.
• Sent business groups such as HSBC, HBOS and First Direct to enjoy exciting teambuilding challenges abroad.
• Picked up a clutch of prestigious awards and nominations.
