Living and working in Sydney

Australia  Australia flag

Rachel at the Sydney Opera House

Sydney is an amazing city and there is so much going on there. From lively bars and a great nightlife, to beautiful beaches and chilled out harbour-side cafes, there is something for everyone.

It is also a great place to work because it gives you the chance to really live like a local and experience life as a Sydneysider! Most people on BUNAC’s Work Australia programme start off working in Sydney, and with the resource office right there in the heart of the city there is plenty of help available to get you started and organise everything when you arrive.

Because Sydney is so diverse and busy, there are lots of options available for jobs and a social life, and with so many travellers in town there are plenty of new people to meet.

Sydney is also gateway to the rest of the country, and in no time at all you can be hiking the gorges in the stunning Blue Mountains or trying your hand at surfing on one of the East Coast’s perfect beaches. And in the winter, there are plenty of indoor activities too, including the amazing Aquarium, various sporting events and activities and lots of lots of great shops!!

Sydney has it all, and it is well worth taking some time to explore it thoroughly. Work Australia allows you to do just this without having to worry about a thing!

Toronto: Four Seasons, One City!

Canada is one of the most diverse countries in the world when it comes to everything from population to weather. We’ve decided to take a look at Toronto, a city where you can get the most out of all four seasons – and we’re not talking about the hotel!

Australia's West Coast

The West Coast of Australia is a gem. It is a lot quieter and less touristy than the East, and for those who venture over there it is usually well worth the 2000 mile journey!

Living and working in Sydney

My time as a 'Sydneysider' on BUNAC's Work Australia programme.

Conservation work in the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of those places that you just have to see in your lifetime, at least once! It’s huge, so big that you can’t really take it in and appreciate the size of the big hole in the ground. I’ve been there a few times now and still can’t pic

Working a ski season in Whistler

Living in Whistler as a seasonaire is like living in a bubble, the real world is going on around you, but you’re only partly aware of it. It pretty much is a year long holiday…

Jess' Volunteer Cambodia experience - Siem Reap

Teaching English in Siem Reap through BUNAC's Volunteer Cambodia programme allowed me to really get to know the fascinating and vibrant town of Siem Reap.

Davida's Work America experience - San Francisco

My two summers living and working in San Francisco and visiting the nearby cities.
