Chalet-Hotel La Terrasse de Verchaix – We are a small dedicated team offering a professional, friendly and individual service to our guests. Family owned and operated by Philip and Louise Taylor who between them have 26 years experience in working in top European ski and beach resorts.
We are currently recruiting for a Chalet Host - French Speaking and Chalet Cook/Chef to join our team for this winter season. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to spend 4 months in the snow, meeting lots of people and reaping the rewards of working in such a beautiful environment.
We are looking for people with relevant hotel, restaurant or catering experience for the role you are applying. Equally important is your ability to work on your own initiative, and have a proven work record. You will be expected to provide an attentive, caring and personal service to our guests at all times, with a positive friendly attitude.
Daily and weekly responsibilities include:
- Setting up and service of breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner
- Restaurant service (dinner only)
- Daily and weekly housekeeping, including cleaning guest rooms and public areas
- Preparing cooked and continental breakfast, staff meals, afternoon tea and three course dinner
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, cleaning of equipment
You will also be required to assist with other duties such as snow clearing, guests luggage, setting up jacuzzie and seeing in deliveries. Chalet host must be able to speak French, preferable to degree level. You should be well organised and work in a clean and tidy manner.
We are looking for applicants with previous hospitality experience in a restaurant/chalet environment – it is essential that you are committed to providing an excellent level of customer service that exceeds our guest’s expectations, with a positive friendly attitude.
We have 7 guest rooms, which have been lovingly refurbished, and now sleep 18/20 guests. The chalet-hotel is in the popular resort of Samoëns, which is part of the Grand Massif ski area in France. There are over 265km of piste linking the resorts of Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt, Flaine, and Les Carroz to provide excellent high altitude skiing for all levels. Situated 55 minutes from Geneva airport.
