Part of the TUI Travel Group, SkiBound is a tour operator which has been specialising in school and adult group travel for over 25 years. As well as our locally run hotels, SkiBound operate ClubHotels which are exclusive properties run by British staff.
Our ClubHotels offer a relaxed and social atmosphere to ensure that groups receive a friendly, fun, value for money holiday. The ClubHotels are situated in various resorts across the French Alps. All our resorts offer something different, from traditional French charm to lively and well established.
Key purpose:
To assist in set up, day to day running, and close down of the French Skibound clubhotels program, achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and profitability. You will understand the objectives of SkiBound and the product we deliver.
Reporting to the area manager you will visit all units regularly and support them in achieving their objectives.
The area supervisor job description covers a broad spectrum of main tasks that are dictated through the needs of the business on a daily basis and overall business objectives. This extends in to the summer program and will vary with regards to the demand we have within our hotels.
Main responsibilities:
Financial:
- Achieve personal and program financial objectives through income revenue generation and expenditure control.
- Ensure hotels run with minimum cost.
- Direct running of hotel bar operation – develop new ideas, encourage promotions and deliver GP.
- Develop and report any other income generation ideas.
- Assist with relevant purchases
Systems:
- Monitor and control all hotel financial expenditure, paperwork and monies. To include observation of safe monies handling and banking.
- Ensure operations staff are maintaining good practices in financial control and monies reporting.
- Ensure hotel set up is achieved
- Monitor and assist with hotel fire security and HACCP control.
- Monitor and collect all hotels end of month paperwork delivering to the area manager by the 4th of each month.
- Carry out hotel audits in co-operation with AM.
- Audit and monitor SkiBound car fleet.
- Sign off all hotel factures and avoirs ensuring they area appropriate and accurate.
- Assist with management of vehicles and driver – expences, timetable etc
HR:
- Participate and deliver training course at season start.
- Monitor and report on staff moral.
- Deliver staff PDU / PDP appraisals in accordance with AM.
- Assist with Hotel HR issues.
- Offer advice in hotel management systems and style to each of your management team.
- Assist with both recruitment and training.
- Develop staff showing the skills for future promotions to more senior roles within SkiBound
- Assist with shortfalls in management where needed.
- Take on, audit, hand back staff accommodation in view of keeping costs to a minimum.
- Assist with staff transport.
Suppliers:
- Liase with ski school and lift pass companies as necessary.
- Liaise with suppliers as problems arise or in view of developing the product.
- Monitor coach companies and the service they deliver.
Operations:
- Assist with Airport duties
- In co-ordination with AM liaise with UK for group information and prepare for group arrival with hotel co-operation.
- Take responsibility for ski operation with AM.
- Audit ski rooms
- Create standard prices schedule across program for upgrades and sales.
- Produce stock figures for weekly monitoring and to develop eos ski purchases.
- Monitor and advise the representatives in all that they do.
Personal:
- Develop ‘others’ sales ideas – internet, clothing etc etc
- Liaise with and visit party leaders.
- Report to AM regularly any issues occurring across the program.
- Attend weekly meeting with AM.
- Monitor hotel catering operation by attending one breakfast and one evening meal per week in one of your clubhotels.
- Manage your own vehicle and expenses producing expenses at least once a month before the last Thursday of each month.
- Produce EOS report for your role and reports for key staff, including buisness report per unit and PDU’s.
- Actively seek summer buisness to fill our clubhotels.
Customer service:
- Achieve cfq targets and schools questionnaire targets.
- Ensure systems are in place to deliver excellent customer service.
- Promote the company and program.
- Deliver ideas on how to better improve the program within budget constraints.
Key skills and experience:
- Full driving license
- Experience in hotel environment at a supervisory/management level
- Strong catering experience
- Good command of French language
- Ability to multitask
