A very rare opportunity has become available for someone to launch the children’s service on board one of the vessels of the world’s most prestigious cruise companies.

King’s Professional Services are designing and developing the programme to be implemented and we are looking for a highly motivated team to work on board and launch the service to a clientele that attracts well healed and seasoned travellers.  You must strive to be the absolute best at what you do and have some fantastic and demonstrated results working with children.  Similarly you will be hard working and disciplined, you must be resourceful, adaptable and genuinely enjoy being with and relating to people at all levels. You must also be able to form good and fun relationships with children, be responsible, cool under pressure, friendly and most of all trustworthy.

You will be responsible for planning, preparation and delivery of a wide variety of activities designed to entertain children as they cruise in luxury.  Activities you will be responsible for go across the full spectrum of arts and crafts, team, music and drama games and sports activities to children aged between 4 and 17 years, throughout the daytime and evenings.

Applicants must be aged 21years, have English as their first language and be available to work from 1st June 2011 for up to 4 months.

Skills Match 

  • Ideal candidates will be educated or working towards a HND/degree in a childcare related or hold at least two NGB sports coaching qualifications and with at least two years of sports coaching experience with children aged 4-17 years.
  • Candidates must have the ability to manage and motivate a staff team.
  • Experience of working with children of all ages is essential, along with a high level of customer service, motivation, commitment and excellent organisational skills.
  • Applicants must be British Citizens and those with a C1D visa are desirable.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cruise ship youth programme leaders are responsible for planning, preparing and delivering a range of sports and activities for groups of children aged between 4 and 17.
  • Cruise ship youth programme leaders will assist with on board duties including embarkation/disembarkation, muster station, welcome shows, greeting parents.
  • Welcome and get to know children in your group, ensuring that their enjoyment is your prime concern. Care for and encourage the children on board this luxury cruise ship and integrate any unhappy children into the group activities.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children in your care.
