Do you want to spent a summer enjoying the beautiful region of Normandy, France? Part of the TUI Travel Group, TravelBound is a tour operator specialising in group travel for schools and adults. As well as an extensive worldwide hotel program, TravelBound operate a Chateau in Normandy, North/West France.

The Chateau is surrounded by 38 acres of land and is located near the village of Molay Littry. The Chateau has 40 bedrooms (sleeps up to 200 people) with meeting rooms, library, games room, lounge area and bar. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool (open from May), tennis court, football and rugby pitch. The grounds of the Chateau are also used for adventure activities such as bivi building and archery.

Main Duties

• Care, maintenance and cleaning of pool, and surrounding areas.
• Care, maintenance and cleaning of all other sports equipment.
• Lifeguarding (if qualified) whilst the pool is in use, to ensure the safety of all clients. · Ensure safety notices are displayed and adhered to.
• Organising, implementing and supervision of sports tournaments and outdoor activities
• Organising and implementing an indoor entertainment programme to include quiz evening, disco and Karaoke with your fellow sports and activities rep/GA’s. · To assist with housekeeping duties if required.
• To assist with Bar duties if required · To plan for current and future development of the grounds with regard to sporting activities.
•  Play an active role in the maintenance of the Tennis court, Full size Grade A Football/Rugby pitch, Activities area, Archery and help referee of coach sessions.
• Any other duties as directed by the Chateau Manager.

Working conditions:

Most duties will take place in and around the Chateau, and your shifts will vary. You will work 6 days per week with one day off as allocated by your manager. Please note that you will be helping out in all areas of the Chateau so flexibility is required. Your performance will be monitored throughout the season, through direct guest feedback (mainly through teacher/group leader questionnaires). Your Manager will also give you formal and informal appraisals. Your initial contract will be under a 6 month probationary period.

What we are looking for

• British/European passport   
• UK/Irish bank account, and Tax or National Insurance number   
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team   
• Passion for working with children
• You must have relevent experience working as an Activity Instructor   
• Additional Outdoor Activity qualifications are desireable   
• Conversational French is essential
