Maintenance Man/Driver in Courchevel

Powder White is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Man/Driver in Courchevel.  We are looking for applicants with strong maintenance, driving and customer service experience to join our busy overseas teams this winter in the position of Maintenance Man/Driver.

The position of Maintenance Man/Driver with Powder White is a front-line role which is extremely varied and which will involve interaction with guests as well as providing full backup and support to the rest of the resort team.  This is viewed as a lynch-pin role requiring excellent levels of organisation, preparation and forethought.  No two weeks will be the same but this role provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to make a good strong contribution to their team and to ensure that all logistical matters are dealt with in a smooth, timely and satisfactory manner with no questions asked.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the resort central store housing all Powder White assets
  • Stock control, allocation and delivery of all goods including guest accessories, pre-booked items, wine, champagne and logs
  • Overseeing stock of bed-linen and towels and taking responsibility of dealing with the laundry on a weekly basis ensuring all deliveries are collected and returned as per the weekly stock-take numbers
  • Ensuring all chalet hosts and properties have everything required and that all maintenance issues in all properties are kept under control with goods and equipment working satisfactorily at all times
  • Dealing with plumbing, carpentry and electrics issues where possible and organising/dealing with recommended suppliers where necessary
  • Overseeing the maintenance and hygiene controls surrounding hot-tubs and saunas/hammams and taking responsibility for maintenance of these
  • Ensuring all properties have clear, well maintained access and that they are complying with stringent Health & Safety Regulations at all times
  • Collating fire safety reports from chalet hosts week by week and making personal secondary weekly checks of all fire equipment
  • Responsibility for any resort vehicles ensuring they are kept clean and tidy both inside and out at all times, keeping a comprehensive reporting system on any damage caused and obtaining quotes when required
  • Guest transfers on changeover days to/from either the train stations or airports, working closely with other Powder White resort drivers
  • Responsibility for any Powder White petty cash held in resort
  • Working closely with your Resort manager with ski pack organisation
  • Working closely with your Product Coordinator ensuring that all properties, guests and staff have everything they need to provide the product sold and to provide what we are contracted to provide

Experience Required:

  • Good relevant customer service experience in a front-line client-facing environment and proactive approach to dealing with difficult situations and unforeseen circumstances
  • Experience of dealing with stock control, organisation and recording of inventories, store room stocks, property report forms and fire safety reporting
  • Computer literacy in Word & Excel
  • Good understanding of French or German in order to deal with suppliers, deliveries and maintenance
  • Proven organisational experience with the ability to support your team and move forward to achieve, excel and exceed expectations
  • Plumbing, Carpentry and Electrics knowledge showing good experience working with multiple tools (own tool set preferred)
  • Clean driving license and a minimum of age of 23 (due to vehicle insurance constraints) and preferable experience of driving in difficult conditions with knowledge of snow-chains
  • EU passport and current National Insurance Number
