Main Purpose
Delivery of all water sports activity sessions to our client groups in a safe, enjoyable and professional manner. A JCA Watersports Instructor will be a person of energy, enthusiasm and efficiency. As a dual trained member of the team you will also organise, lead and deliver a timetable of indoor and outdoor activity sessions to groups of young people. Excellent communication skills are essential as are the qualities and attributes associated with effective leadership. The Watersports Instructor / Multi Activity Instructor will be able to understand the strengths, limitations & personalities of each participant, which in turn will help them to build trust & rapport during the groups stay. Ensuring that they are motivated, presented in line with company grooming standards and are focused on delivering excellent results throughout the operation. Using high levels of enthusiasm and instructing skills, our instructing team will provide groups with an unforgettable stay that exceeds all expectations.
Responsibilities
- Promoting excellent customer service, communicating with all customers ensuring that expectations are exceeded and targets are achieved.
- Building rapport and using excellent communication skills with all customers (Party Leaders, Children & Suppliers) throughout the operation.
- Ensuring that all customer queries, enquiries, any complaint issues are dealt with in a polite, effective and in a timely manner throughout the operation.
- Assisting in the arrival and departure of all customer groups.
- Performing team and individual duties to include activity area / room / site work, facility preparation, session development, equipment maintenance and some evening duties.
- Ensuring that all activity areas on & off centre are set out as per Travel Class operational guidelines and that equipment is well maintained, stored and presented throughout the season.
- Adhering to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and ensuring that excellent standards of Health and Safety are maintained on site throughout the season.
- Delivery of all activity sessions in accordance with the Activity Standards & Procedures Manual (ASAPs), Generic Risk Assessments and Site Risk Assessments.
- Compliance with the company’s child protection policy at all times.
- Ensuring that all activities (land and water based) adhere to BAHA, LOtC, Adventuremark, BCU & AALA standards and procedures.
- Excellent delivery standards on all activity sessions, including evening entertainments and meal duties.
- Actively promote the company’s Equal Opportunity Policy and Health & Safety Policy ensuring it is being followed in all aspects of Travel Class operations.
- Actively promote the Travel Class product on site and ensure that the “Rebooking On Site” target is achieved.
- Enthusiastically promote the sale of Travel Class Merchandise, to our customers, whilst on site.
- Any other tasks requested by the Travel Class Senior team onsite deemed relevant to this role.
- Assisting the Senior Team with equipment maintenance.

Role requirements
- UKCC Level 1 minimum
- FSRT (Foundation Safety Rescue Technician)
- Relevant First Aid Qualification
- Enjoys working with children.
- Excellent customer service results
- Flexibility within role and to change location as per business needs.
- Motivational and inspiring, willingness to support new to role instructors.
- High levels of enthusiasm and energy.
- The ability to work within a team.
- Satisfactory receipt of ‘Subject Access Disclosure’ and ‘Enhanced CRB Disclosure’
