Jobs in outdoor sports vary hugely in the qualifications and skills required by the employer. If you are qualified to a resonable standard in any discipline you will have little problem finding work. , and great many more outdoor jobs abroad. From outdoor centres in Scotland and the surf breaks of South West France, to superb diving off the Great Barrier Reef, there are opportunities to instruct, learn and support. Some companies operate systems where you can attain certificates in outdoor pursuits while you are working.

Adventure activity jobs abroad

Most large overseas employers for the summer season start recrtuiting in September for a May start. Normally, recruitment will continue through to around the end of June. PGL are an obvious one and with the steady expansion of their service they are always in need of good staff to work in some incredible locations. Another tip this month is Carlingford Adventure Centre in Ireland, they need Multi Activity Instructors and English Language teachers with outdoor sports quals.

UK adventure centre jobs

There are over a thousand outdoor activity centres in the UK, each looking for staff that enjoy working with groups of people. Positions are available with activity centres from Juanuary onwards, usually to fill a relatively short season for temp staff but there are more permanent opportunities available for the right candidtates. Jobs include land-based instructors, watersports instructors, adventure centre support staff, group leaders, guides, lifeguards and Counsellors. You usually get your digs and meals thrown in (sometimes for a deduction in wages) and often you are able to use activities and centre equipment in your own time.
