Camp Leaders are looking for people who have a particular skill or skills to teach to children at summer camp in America. Qualifications and certifications in your particular skill area are a bonus! Spend your summer working as an activity specialist with children ages 6 through 16; you must be available for at least 9 weeks from late May or early June.

The Summer Camp Experience
Summer camp is a tradition in the USA that provides a unique environment for children to develop both physical and social skills. Over 10 million children attend camp each year and there are over 10,000 camps across the United States.

Camp Leaders aims to help continue the excellence of the camp community that has provided a source of positive development for so many young people over the past hundred years. Our goal is to provide an exchange of ideas and skills between campers, American staff and Camp Leaders recruits from around the world.

Training
As part of the Camp Leaders program, we ensure that all of our recruits are well- trained, aware and prepared for their experience. There will be Preparation Days in March, April and May in various locations throughout the UK. Attendance at one of these dates is mandatory. Preparation days are led by experienced summer camp staff who will provide insight and tips to working at summer camp in the USA. In addition, Camp Leaders offers various elective training courses throughout the UK to allow you to help develop skills, which will be beneficial to your application and camp experience. Camp Leaders strives to provide summer camps with people of the highest quality, and in turn, to form a lasting association with you.

Benefits & Costs
A summer at camp will provide you with many benefits, which range from building your C.V. to providing you with a most fulfilling and enjoyable experience. You will receive three meals per day, accommodation and pocket money (monetary stipend). Your pocket money amount depends upon the role you hold at camp, your experience and your relevant qualifications.

The Camp Leaders program fee is £279 and includes return flights to the USA and transportation to camp, 4 months fully comprehensive medical insurance, assistance with your J1 Visa & cultural exchange forms, guaranteed pocket money of $920 (minimum), full board and accommodation during camp, 24-hour helpline whilst in the US and plenty of time to travel across America independently at the end of your camp contract.
