My name is Sophie and I have just completed my first season working as a rep in Les Arcs, part of the Paradiski area in France. Les Arcs gave me the perfect season package of a close knit seasonnaire community, great ski area and plenty of activities besides working and skiing.
Living up in Arc 2000 gave me doorstep skiing to the fantastic high altitude runs and access to the whole Paradiski Area of the Les Arcs Villages and La Plagne. The mountain in Les Arcs has so much to offer from scenic tree lined runs to glacier skiing at 3226m high and incredible off piste. With the lift pass we also had access to ski the Three valleys and Espace Killy so had many a trip to explore other resorts in the local area.
Other ways to spend time on the mountain include the natural ice rink, the amazing snowpark which features a huge airbag. Another popular crowd gatherer is the infamous water slide, many an afternoon can be spent sunbathing and watching the brave attempting to make it across the pool of water.
Les Arcs is spread across 5 levels with really easy access inbetween.
Favourite mountain meal spots include bar Mont Blanc in Vallandry for a great value lunch and L’Arpette restaurant is always popular for incredible views and home to the famous mountain meal and torchlight descent.
Arc 1800 is home to the most bars and clubs but try 2000 for a fantastic night out in Whistler’s Dream Bar, some late night Bowling then live music & DJ’s until the morning in Latino’s.
Arc 1950 is a charming luxury village if money is no object for eating and drinking but also home to seasonnaires favourite George’s Wine Bar (smallest in the world) for Karaoke on the tables - be warned you will miss the last bus so be prepared for the uphill piste walk home!
