We offer the ASSI Level 1 on our winter snowboard instructor programmes. These will be held during the months of January and March. The ASSI certification is designed for those wishing to find employment in a mountain environment teaching beginner and intermediates riders.

The 11 week course will include: 

·      ASSI Level 1

·      ASSI Level 2 training

·      Personal Snowboard Development

 ·      Professional Teaching Development

·      Professional Knowledge

·      Winter season 2009 paid work opportunities as a snowboard instructor work with our partner ski schools (optional). 

We will have 6 week to 12 week courses available. Please see course calendar for more information on specific courses.

Over the 11 week course the RAS coaches will provide a constant personal development snowboard and teaching programme which covers every aspect of teaching and snowboard including video analysis. This will include teaching sessions, shadowing, grabs, tricks, freestyle elements, piste and off piste performance.After students have qualified for the ASSI level 1 there will be an additional 6 weeks of ski school training to prepare students for instructor work during the winter season. There is also an opportunity for students to take up another language (French or German) which will prove essential when applying to any foreign ski schools.The Winter ASSI Programme will be based in Gstaad.

Pre-SelectionBefore applying to the ASSI Level 1 course students are required to snowboard confidently and coping with a variety of conditions on red runs.
