The greatest snow on earth!
The Canyons is the largest single ski and snowboard resort in Utah and one of the five largest in the U.S. The Canyons Resort caters to people who really love to ski and snowboard and can appreciate how well the diverse terrain holds and protects an average annual 400 inch bounty of snow. You will find Long and gentle. Big and Bowled. Steep and deep. Aspen and pine. With 3700 acres in all and a choice of 155 trails17 lifts, 6 natural halfpipes and 2 terrain parks. 

Mount Snow is located at the southern tip of Vermont in the Northeastern United States. On a map, it is located on Route 100 in the town of West Dover, midway between Brattleboro and Bennington. New York City is a 4 hour drive south, and Boston is a 3 hour drive east of the mountain. A majority of Mount Snow’s guests come from these major metropolitan areas.
Mount Snow offers 104 trails and 19 lifts encompassing 598 acres in Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest. There is a 400-foot competition Superpipe and 4 terrain parks providing varying degrees of difficulty for boarders skiers alike.


We are currently recruiting Lift Operators for both resorts.

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
Assist customers in getting safely on and off chair lifts while providing the highest level of guest service.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform all necessary opening procedures: check stop buttons and switches to be sure they are operating correctly; groom ramp, maze and low tip areas, shovel snow, rake, pick up debris, etc. Set up, maintain and take down mazes, clean chairs and cabins.
· Perform maze control.
· Check tickets if necessary; ensure that riders have valid ticket; refuse entry to skiers without valid ticket, and refer to appropriate personnel for assistance.
· Load chairs and cabins; explain procedures to inexperienced lift riders, slow or stop the lift when necessary, assist guests getting into the chair when necessary, ensure all safety procedures are followed.
· Unload chairs and cabins; watch every guest unload the lift, be prepared to stop of slow the lift when necessary, assist guests with equipment when necessary.
· Monitor the operations of the lift continually, and notify appropriate personnel of any problems or unusual conditions.
· Pick up dropped equipment and attempt to return it to the owner.
· Take information on injuries or accidents, and report to appropriate personnel.
· Greet every guest in a congenial manner, and answer a variety of questions about the trail, weather and snow conditions. Have a complete knowledge of mountain services and locations.
· Perform all closing procedures; last chair, take down mazes, rake ramps and low tips, clean lift houses and around the lift area. Remove all trash every night.
· Responsible for accurate record keeping pertaining to all operational log sheets.
· Assist with other lifts operations tasks as assigned, such as some lift start up and shut down procedures on simple lift systems.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP
Direction is received from lift operations coordinator, supervisor, manager, and other senior staff members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
· Manual dexterity.
· Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects.

QUALIFICATIONS
· High school education desirable. Some basic mechanical aptitude.
· Ability to work quickly and alertly, and to strictly observe safety procedures. Ability to learn a variety of information about activities, events, policies, procedures, schedules, and the like pertaining to the resort and the area.
· Ability to handle lift chairs and/or cabins, to ride chair lifts, and to work in the cold, and perform all job duties. Ability to deal with customers in a courteous, efficient, and confident/authoritative manner.
· Acceptable guest service skills and reliability.
· Good attitude to assigned tasks.
