The Canyons Resort caters to folks who really love to ski and snowboard and can appreciate how well our diverse terrain holds and protects an average annual 355 inch bounty of snow. Whether you visit as a family, a group or a single, you'll find endless terrain for every style and ability. Take your pick: Long and gentle. Big and Bowled. Steep and steeper. Aspen and pine.

Only qualified instructor need apply.  No Certification: Not available for hire as an instructor. We do have Sales & Reservations positions.Level I: minimum of $12 per hour – certification must be currentLevel II: minimum of $15 per hour – certification must be currentLevel III: minimum of $20 per hour – certification must be current 

Working Hours and Conditions:Most shifts begin and end between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. Ski & Snowboard Instructors work outside for the majority of the day in various weather conditions.  They are our front line for guest interaction, so they MUST be ATTENTIVE TO OUR GUESTS SAFETY, BE AS INFORMED AS POSSIBLE REGARDING CANYONS INFORMATION, AND MAKE EVERY GUEST FEEL LIKE THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON AT THE RESORT! They must provide superior Ski Instruction to children ages 2 to 14, in both group and private lesson environments. The majority of the Ski/Snowboard Instructor’s day will be spent instructing all students on The Skier’s Responsibility Code; ensuring all safety practices are taught and developing reasonable rules of group behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied; planning and implementing programs of instruction designed to meet both individual and group needs of students; encouraging students’ enthusiasm for skiing, the learning process and the further development of good skiing/snowboarding skills. They must have a desire to work with children, parents, guests and fellow employees. They must demonstrate ability to communicate, supervise, and work with assigned ages and skill levels and provide necessary instructions to students.   

During the busy periods (Christmas holiday, President’s week, spring break periods – exact dates to be determined), all instructors will be expected to work at least 6 days per week, and may be required to adjust their regularly scheduled days off.  Requests for time off during these periods must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date being requested. During the rest of the season, requests for time off must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance. No requests for time off are guaranteed to be granted; supervisors will grant time off based on business needs. 

Uniform Requirements:As a Ski Instructor, you will be issued a uniform for the season.  This uniform includes a jacket, vest, pants, base layer and a hat.  The staff member is responsible for underclothing, boots and gloves.  There is a staff program that you can participate in, and get up to 50% off on items that you need for your job. The staff member is responsible for supplying their own ski gear that is required for work and pleasure. Do not plan on renting equipment from The Canyons.
