Job Details
As a Chalet Host you will be based in one of our chalets in Europe. You will be responsible for providing catering and hospitality services to our guests and ensuring that they are made comfortable during their stay. Your duties include: preparing breakfast, a packed lunch, afternoon tea and a three-course evening meal six nights a week; cleaning the chalet on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis; providing guests with information, help and advice; completing company paperwork; and controlling the budget for the chalet.
As a Support Chalet Host you will be responsible for the above in various chalets to help and support the Chalet Hosts and also cover their days off.
The role
- To maintain a welcoming and comfortable environment in the chalet throughout the season, providing guests with information and assistance and acting as an interpreter/translator where necessary, to ensure the success of the holiday.
- To follow the Neilson core menu plan & suggested recipes in accordance with a pre-determined budget, constantly seeking to improve methods and maintain a fresh approach to food preparation and service.
- To take full responsibility for shopping, ordering and accounting for the chalet in conjunction with the line manager in resort.
- To clean and maintain the chalet in accordance with Company guidelines on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis.
- To ensure that the chalet environment is a safe & secure one in which to work and stay and that all Company health & safety procedures are implemented.
- To accurately complete and submit all Company paperwork in accordance withpre-determined deadlines.
- To take full responsibility for the handling of and accounting for all Company monies in your possession.
- Demonstrate an excellent overall knowledge of Neilson, Airtours &Panorama products and pro-actively cross sell our holidays to all guests.
- To work as a team with resort staff to carry out operational tasks (where required) which help with the smooth running of the resort as directed by the line manager.
The ideal candidate should preferably be educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Basic knowledge of a second European language would be an advantage, although not essential. Evidence of catering experience at a practical level is required, as is the confidence to prepare meals for up to twelve people.
