Oyster offers you the opportunity to work for a ski season in the world famous Canadian resort, Whistler.  Our moto is ‘work hard, play hard’!  We help you to strike this balance by guaranteeing you will earn a competitive wage whilst including an all access season ski pass, allowing you to fully enjoy this magical ski resort.

 

We have been sending people to Whistler since 2000 and have built up a well varied collection of job opportunities working in well known branded hotels in Whistler village. During your stay you will have the full support of our representatives in both Whistler and the UK, providing you with friendly help whenever needed.

 

We have a number of vacancies available for this coming ski season that provide impressive experience. Applicants must be aged between 18 - 30.

 

The Jobs available

We have secured a number of jobs working in a selection of Whistler’s hotels. Depending on your previous work experience will depend on the exact role you will get. You should expect an entry level position as a housekeeper or junior server. You will work full time in this busy resort but still have plenty of free time to hit the slopes and enjoy the many events Whistler has to offer.

 

The Pay 

You can expect to earn a good wage of around $10 per hour (above the Canadian minimum wage). This gives you the opportunity to fully enjoy your stay, live comfortably and most importantly lead a great social life - The way of life in Canada really is ‘Work hard, play hard’! Most participants are even able to save some money for when they have finished the placement. In most cases, participants are paid every 2 weeks. You do need to pay for your accommodation (this comes straight out of your pay cheque) and this equates to roughly 1 hours pay per night. 

 

Skiing/Boarding experience 

It doesn’t matter on your previous experience, our jobs are ideal for novices and experts alike. With plenty of free time you will find that you will improve quickly and never get bored with plenty on offer to challenge even the most experienced amongst you. Whistler is a large world class Olympic resort – make the most of it by exploring everything it has to offer.

 

What do I get for my money?

To participate in the programme there is a charge of £3025, this includes:

Oyster will arrange a job for you, help you organise your Work Permit (extra fee of $150 payable to the Canadian High Commission), organise return flights and make sure there is good accommodation ready for when you arrive. Before departure we will interview and brief you on a one to one basis. About 3 months before departure we hold a pre departure course where you will meet the rest of the group that you will travel with and will be told all about your job, flights and Visa. Your first nights accommodation inVancouveris included as well as transport to and from the airport. Once in Whistler you will receive an intensive orientation course that will tell you everything you need to know. You will also have the support of our in country rep throughout your time in Whistler.

Working in Whistler for the Ski season is an amazing experience. Not only is the social life great and the jobs fantastic but also the support and benefits that Whistler gives its employees are world class. 

You spend 5-6 months in Whistler with all this and more for just £3025 and this price includes return flights from London toVancouver! This is a comprehensive programme that guarantees you a job during the entire ski season, taking away all the hassle and risk from yourself.
