My name is Laura and I am an Assistant Hotel Manager in Courchevel. Doing a season in Courchevel is very enjoyable and fulfilling. I found with my job I had a good balance between work, responsibility and time to ski and as I was a complete beginner at the start of the season this was really important to me. By getting lessons from ESF and having friends round me to help out I soon improved and began really enjoying it. Everything else just fitted into place as well.
Working in the hotel was an awesome experience. You really feel part of a team and of a family when you work here; everyone looks after each other and has fun together. The relaxed atmosphere in the hotel also means you can have fun with the guests as well. On a number of occasions this season we had big groups of guests that always wanted to know where the best places were to go for après and for a drink at night and most of the time we ended up being in the same place and having a good time with them.
There is no doubt that doing a season is hard work but this hard work pays off ten fold when you get to the end of the week and the effort you have put in gives the guests a great holiday and you receive great feedback, it is such a sense of accomplishment. If anyone ever had a doubt about doing a season I would always say go for it, you will love it.
