Teton Pass Facelfit!

Friday 29 October 2010

Added by: Base Camp Group

A businessman named Alan Wood from New Zealand purchased the Teton Pass ski area over the Summer. This new owner has invested a total of $3 million, and has plans to extend the areas number of lifts with the instalment of a new t-bar by the start of the season. Last year the resort did not open due to issues wtih the power plant for the resort. As this was one of the main problems with the resort last year, Wood has organised the upgrade of the power plant.Woods has also cut another 10 runs in the area, upgraded the one chair lift from diesel to electricity and installed a new ‘magic carpet’ ski lift. Overall, Woods has made a terrific investment purchasing the ski area for $270,000, and the Teton Pass Ski area is set to be one of the next top resorts in the Montana area. Woods has stated that although he is making huge renovations, he doesn’t want to create another Vail, but rather a resort which is designed more for regional skiers. The project is estimated to be completed by the beginning of the 2012 season. It will be very interesting to see if Woods will manage to achieve all that he claims
