I started with Crystal straight after Uni, it was supposed to be one season, but few years now passed and I’m still here. After staying in VT in a catered chalet, I decided this was what I wanted to do. My first season was in La Plagne, where I applied and worked in a 19 person chalet with my Uni friend. I got used to plenty of crazy nights out, lots of socials and dressing up. It was fantastic having a different group of guests every week. There was this Saturday/changeover day buzz to get everything ready to chill for a while before the new guests arrive, after couple of months I realised I’d like some more responsibility and decided to step up and apply as chalet supervisor. Did this for couple of season again in La Plagne as I knew the chalets very well and last season in gorgeous Val D’Isere where I worked with a fantastic team of hosts and reps.
I love that you work hard but have such fantastic moments at the same time with your friends while boarding, skiing or just chilling at one of many Après available. I worked through the summer in Ibiza as a Chef. I got to learn Spanish a bit and saw some celebrities while tanning on many of the beaches or going to one of the world famous night clubs.
Summer 2010 I worked as a Rep in Lake Garda in Italy. Every week you were able to go on such free excursions as Venice by night, Florence, Wine Tasting and Milan. Because I lived 30minutes away from Verona I used to have my shopping sprees there as it was really cheap especially when the sales were on! I went to see Alicia keys perform in the ancient arena, which holds many operas and concerts every week.
In the period between the seasons I got plenty of free time to travel. I went backpacking in Thailand and Malaysia for a month. I’m off to relax in the Mexican sun for two weeks next month.
This summer season I’m working in recruitment office based in Kingston, but in few months you might see me somewhere on the French slopes, as I’m coming out again this time as a Resort Chalet Manager and can’t wait to meet my new team.
See you there.
