Background information on YSE
YSE have been operating for the past 20 years, solely in Val d'Isère. We have 21 chalets scattered around the resort and our resort manager, John Yates-Smith, who has been the resort manager since YSE's inception, has lived there for the past 30 years. So to say that we know the resort inside out is to merely scratch the surface.
We are a very small firm and our office, located in the sleepy Dorset town of Sherborne, covers the administrative side of the business. This is where Fiona Easdale - our Managing Director and a former Olympic skier - works with a small team of office staff and, if your initial application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.
Our seasonal staff come to Val d'Isère because they want to ski or board almost every day for five months, on some of the best slopes in the world. We don't ask that you're a good skier or boarder - it doesn't even matter if you've never even tried it at all - but we look for sporty, enthusiastic and willing candidates.
As we expect high standards, we provide our staff with the best, so if you work for YSE you will receive some of the best pay around, a full Espace Killy ski pass which includes the whole Val d'Isere/Tignes area, free ski or snowboard hire (including boots and poles), medical and liability insurance, accommodation, food, travel to and from the resort and YSE uniform, including our legendary yellow jacket.
Applicants under 21 years old need to show exceptional qualities and experience to be considered. All applicants must be British passport holders with a valid UK National Insurance number.
