JOB DESCRIPTION: Ensure the organisation of and profitable running of the bar & restaurant and exceeding the financial targets set through correct pricing policy, promotions, new business ideas, stock/cash control and successful staff management. Develop bar and incremental menus in cooperation with the head chef and hotel manager. Conduct studies with competing businesses to ensure our offerings are competitive and in line with the prevailing trends. Develop a welcoming, friendly atmosphere where guests can feel comfortable and relaxed.
Team Management
· Train and develop staff to maximise performance, aid retention and reduce turnover.· Lead and inspire the team to live by the service principles, thus developing highly motivated, committed teams.· Lead by example – show the staff how to look after guests in a professional, pro active manner· Ensure team receive, understand & adhere to all company policies & procedures.· Co-ordinate workload of staff within the property.· Ensure all staff develops through regular training sessions.
Key Skills: Knowledge, Experience and Competencies: (i.e. those (including qualifications) required to fulfil role:
KnowledgeExcellent knowledge of Restaurant, Bar and Staff management. Knowledge of food trends, pricing strategies, menu engineering, promotional pricing and advertising.
ExperiencePrior working experience as F&B Manager, alternatively experienced as both Bar & Restaurant Manager in high volume, table service environments.
