Job Details
Main duties / responsibilities
- To plan, book and confirm the Activity and Excursion Programme as per the Agent Manual and the Programme Manager’s instructions
- To organise, manage, motivate and monitor a team of staff
- To liaise with the DOS to ensure the academic and recreational programme are integrated where possible
- To liaise with the IAC team regularly with regard to course change
- To keep a weekly record of the number of students on each activity course
- To assist, support and deputise for other managers when required
- To ensure student discipline, safety and welfare policies and procedures are implemented
- To submit weekly paperwork to set Head Office deadlines and within budget
- To organise, hold and minute regular staff meetings (preferably daily – minimum of 3 times p/wk)
- To arrange student departure transfers
- To carry out the 24hr emergency duties on a rota basis
- To carry out residential duties, including meal, bedtime and night time supervision duties
Person Specification
Essential:
- Strong managerial presence and team player
- Summer School experience
- Flexibility and adaptability to the changing requirements of the programme
- Excellent multi tasking ability
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Enthusiasm and ability to inspire the team of staff
- Ability to think on your feet
- Ability to work within budgets
- Ability to delegate to others when necessary
Ideally you will have:
- Previous knowledge of summer schools
- Experience of organising activity programmes
- Experience of dealing with continuous enrolment
- Experience of working / supervising minors
Remuneration depends on the size of the centre and the experience of the applicant
The post is residential (full board accommodation is included)
Your pay is broken down as Basic Pay + Holiday Pay which will be payable at the end of your employment
Staff will accrue prorated annual holidays with pay at the rate of 5.6 weeks per annum. Unless there are special circumstances agreed during the interview, this holiday can only be taken at the end of the contract and staff will be paid for untaken holidays at the end of their employment.
