Summer Boarding Courses (SBC) offers a truly international summer school experience in fantastic locations throughout England, with top quality English language courses, activity programmes and excursions.
We are currently recruiting for an Activities Manager for SBC Oxford International Summer School, which caters for students between the ages of 10-14. The site is based in a beautiful northern suburb of Oxford within walking distance of the city centre.
The activity programme is a hugely important part of the summer for the students and therefore requires a high level of organisation, preparation and management of the activity team. SBC Oxford requires an experienced, dynamic and energetic activity manager to take charge of the activity programme and the staff ensuring all activities run smoothly and that all students are engaged, entertained and enjoying a wide variety of well-organised and well-executed activities.
Duties involve creation, implementation and monitoring of the activity programme, organising English Plus and Special Interest programmes, liaising with specialist activities coaching staff and supporting and managing the activity and teaching staff in all aspects of the activity programme.
As a member of the management staff you will be expected to be aware of and involved in all aspects of management of the centre, to supervise day excursions when required, to assist with all arrival and departure days and to assist with welfare and pastoral duties.
You will need to have keen leadership skills, previous summer school experience and a full understanding of the challenges of managing an international summer school. The position requires flexibility, creativity, huge amounts of energy and the ability to think on your feet.
