Summer Boarding Courses (SBC) offers a truly international summer school experience in fantastic locations throughout England, with top quality English language courses, activity programmes and excursions.
We are currently recruiting for a Centre Manager for Dean Close International Summer School, which caters for students between the ages of 11-16. The site is based in the beautiful Cotswold town of Cheltenham within walking distance of the town centre.
As one of our larger centres, Dean Close International Summer School requires an experienced dynamic and energetic centre manager to lead from the front, inducting, motivating and managing the staff team and ensuring that all aspects of the summer school operate efficiently, effectively and to the very highest standards.
As the most senior member of staff, the Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the centre as well as the safety and security of our students. During the summer, the centre manager will report directly to the SBC Operations Manager and liaise regularly with SBC Head Office, Dean Close Summer School staff, the transfer and excursion manager and various other outsourced agents to ensure client satisfaction.
Duties involve induction and development of course staff, management of the student experience from arrival to departure and coordination of student supervision, support and discipline throughout.
You will need to have exceptional leadership skills, previous summer school management experience and a full understanding of the challenges of running an international summer school. The position requires huge amounts of energy, the ability to think on your feet, to inspire students and staff alike and of course, a good sense of humour. A calm approach to problem solving, a proven ability to work effectively under pressure, to delegate responsibility and to co-ordinate a team of staff is essential.
