Job Details

PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people.

We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis, based at our Loch Ranza children’s educational holiday centre on the beautiful Isle of Arran.

This postion involves the upkeep and maintenance of the centres’ guest and staff accommodation and facilities. Loch Ranza is PGL’s Field Studies specialist centre, situated just outside Brodick on the Isle Of Arran, off the West Coast of Scotland. This small centre provides a unique and spectacular location for pupils aged from 8-18 years to learn about the stunning environment around them.

Duties will include day-to-day maintenance issues reported by guests and staff and pro-active maintenance to reduce future problems.

Whilst training can be provided in all aspects of this role, suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate previous practical experience and aptitude for general maintenance work. Plumbing, electrical and/or carpentry experience would be an advantage to any application.

This role offers great scope for personal development in a supportive environment.

The position is available as a residential postion if preferred, however we are happy to consider applications from people wishing to live off-site. Meals are provided free of charge. This permanent contract is based on a 37.5 hour working week over 5 days.

If you think that you have the right skills and experience for this role, please contact Adam Brierley (Staffing Manager) in the PGL Recruitment Team in the first instance for a job description and person spec on adam.brierley@pgl.co.uk or 0844 3710 123.

Applicants should apply in writing, including their CV, outlining their suitability for this role to:

Adam Brierley via email (see above) or post to: PGL Recruitment Team, PGL Travel Ltd., Alton Court, Penyard Lane, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire HR9 5GL.

The closing date for applications is Friday January 7th 2011.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for.

You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position.

PGL is committed to the principle of equality and diversity. We welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
