Background information on Oyster Worldwide
Oyster is a specialist Gap Year and Responsible Travel company and active member of the Year Out Group. It is really important to us that we offer a personal service and get to know our participants well before departure.
What makes Oyster different?
We offer demanding but worthwhile placements - most have been running for 10 years. Being specialists allows us to interview, brief and train you before departure. You will receive excellent support from our long serving overseas staff including an orientation course and language training where necessary.
We offer paid work in the Australian Outback and also in one of 3 top Canadian Ski Resorts. In all of our paid placements you can earn a local wage and have a fantastic Gap Year experience.
We also offer voluntary placements in a variety of worldwide destinations. One of Oyster's main aims is to provide an environment where you can get fully immersed into the culture you are living in. You are not there as a tourist travelling through the country for a few weeks. You are there long enough to get truly under the skin of the country.

We take the time to get to know our participants personally. We always prefer to meet for a face to face interview at our office in East Sussex and ensure that everyone is thoroughly briefed before departure. For group departures, you will get the chance to meet the rest of the group that they will be travelling with at a specially designed briefing course. Going with a group is often one of the highlights for many of our participants.
