It might be that your computer can't handle it because I am normally on a really old one and it doesn't work but when I went on my bosses swanky new one it was crystal clear!

Hopefully its that. I'm on a mac here so Google Earth is still only the
Beta one, when I move home at the end of the week I'll use the brand new laptop to have a look
