Are you looking for a varied and I retesting chef job in the Alps that also gives you plenty of slope time? Then look no further!
We run an independent catering company based in Morzine, France. Most of our clients in the winter have booked a self catered chalet or apartment, or are companies that have had staff that leave unexpectedly or get injured.
Generally the clients have 6 days catering in a week, and have booked in advance, but we also do one off bookings.
We have three different menus, a ‘Family Value’ menu, which includes continental breakfast and a two course evening meal that the whole family have together. The ‘Traditional’ menu includes 6 cooked and continental breakfasts, 5 afternoon teas and 6 three course evening meals for adults with a separate two course children’s meal. The ‘Luxury’ menu is similar to the traditional but has 6 four course Luxury meals for the adults, with bubbles and canapés on the first and last nights. The menus are set but we can alter for dietary requirements as long as we know in advance.
This chalet chef job is ideal for a candidate who has previous chalet experience, as well as chef experience. We do expect the chefs to be fairly independent, but there is plenty of help and support available.
Generally the chefs will work from around 7-10am and 5-9pm, but this will depend on meal times and can change a little bit depending on bookings.
The chefs cook and prepare breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, depending on the package, and are also responsible for laying the table, serving and clearing up after the meal as well. There is plenty of client contact as the chef is often in an open plan kitchen.
The job is on a French contract, no accommodation provided, and a vehicle is necessary.
The ideal candidate will be Independent, professional and friendly. There is plenty of ski time as no food shopping is required so you can make the most of the slopes.
