We are looking for an excellent general assistant and a dynamic fresh-minded chef to join our team for the 2019 season.

Our working farm is off the beaten track in the stunning Lake District National Park on the edge of Coniston Water (lake) and next to Grizedale forest, a renowned open water swimming and mountain biking destination.

From the farm we run a guesthouse, self catering cottages, restaurant and cafe, mountain bike/paddle-board/boat hire, farm shop and kennels.

We sleep up to 60 persons.


Unlike traditional cheffing roles we are keen to enable/help you grow and experience new/different areas dependent on your past experience and interest. From creating and designing a kitchen garden through to learning about farming...You would be involved in all aspects of the kitchen, from the making of breakfast/lunch and dinners; through to the baking of cakes for the cafe/tea rooms.

This role too offers great variety, and don’t be put off if you lack experience in any one area as we can train you.

The boring bit

It would be preferable if you had your own car as we are a 20 minute walk into the village and public transport is infrequent and the bus station is relatively far away if it's hammering it down!

Applicants must be legally able to work in the UK with NI numbers & bank accounts. You must speak and write English fluently.

We are looking for people who are common sense-minded, trustworthy, reliable, hard working and are quick to learn and think on their feet - a sense of humour wouldn’t go a miss!
