THE BUSHCRAFT COMPANY
The Bushcraft Company offers outdoors adventures to children aged 7-18 years old from May to October. Arriving at one of our safari-style tented camps, students will become fully enveloped in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars, and cooking over open fires. Whether they are learning first-aid techniques, building shelters or tackling a SOS scenario, our outdoor adventures are as real as you can get. You will look after absolutely everything during their stay, including providing 24-hour pastoral care for our students!
On every camp there’s a roaring campfire, where the students gather for talks and mealtimes between their jam packed programme of outdoors activities. The students will also have the chance to cook their own food, using traditional Bushcraft methods.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for one of our student 'tribes' at one of our camps, ensuring that our high level of pastoral care is maintained and safeguarding their Health and Safety throughout their trip with us. You will be looking after your tribe through the many activities they will be doing during their stay with us. Activities range from wild swimming, archery and target sports to traditional bushcraft skills like fire lighting and shelter building. This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy and a desire to lead by example. You will be a role model for our young people, ensuring they leave camp with positive memories that will last them a lifetime.
Our Tribe Leaders are key to The Bushcraft Company, providing the best care and instruction in our industry. No previous experience is required, as all applicants will complete in-house training and our mentoring scheme before working on one of our camps. However, you do need plenty of enthusiasm and a sense of fun!
