Who are we looking for?

We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Centre Manager, who is committed and passionate about their sports and can take the centre forward with close support from the Directors.

This is a leadership role - and requires a deep understanding of people and their different needs. Care, trust and respect are core values; along with grounded resilience for working in a dynamic environment.

You will need the following qualifications:

  • RYA Senior Instructor with a minimum of 2 year's experience working as a Senior Instructor
  • RYA Dinghy Instructor (essential)
  • RYA Windsurf instructor (ideal)
  • RYA Powerboat instructor (an advantage)
  • 1st Aid
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • BC Coaching qualifications - a huge advantage

A Typical Day in the Job

We work a 5 day week that includes some weekends.

All staff enjoy plenty of teaching alongside a mixture of maintenance and administration roles.

As a centre manager your role will vary depending on time of year. During the season we focus on the smooth running of the on-water sessions and ensuring that equipment maintenance and course administration is up to date. During low season we focus on business development for future years.

A typical day starts around 08:30 with set-up and runs until pack-down for 18:30. We are open longer hours in the Summer season to capture the before and after work adult market for certain sports and run 2 shifts to accommodate this.

A youth course usually runs over two full days 09:30-16:30. We also run two hour taster parties and multi-activity days.

At weekends we offer adult training scheme courses which usually run over two days.

Busy schools programme throughout term time and activity weeks.

We run a kids Summer Camp through the holidays which we are looking to meaningfully expand over the coming years. 

Other Details:

Onsite accommodation is currently not available (although is planned to be available within the next 24 months). Accommodation within easy walking distance of the Centre can be arranged and included as part of your overall compensation package by separate negotiation.
