Do you have your UKCC Level 1/2 and 4* Open Canoe (or equivalent)?
Come and work as a River Leader for Acorn Adventure and have the experience of a lifetime leading groups on a two day Ardeche Canoe Descent with an overnight bivouac in the Ardeche Gorge.
What we’re looking for…
Our River Leaders lead groups on our ever popular two day descent on the Ardeche River (Grade 2 white water) under the guidance of the Head of Paddlesports. River Leaders also instruct a variety of taster sessions in water and land-based activities at our centre in Savane in Southern France.
If you have excellent standards, are highly motivated and have strong people skills, Acorn is the company for you! We’re looking for staff to deliver brilliant customer service to our guests, whilst instructing fun and safe activity sessions for them. As part of the role, you will also be required to interact daily with the guests and get involved in all aspects of centre life from cleaning and serving at meal times to site work.
If you enjoy mucking in and working hard whilst instructing various activities and also having the opportunity to get out and about in some fantastic locations, then we want you to apply! We are ideally looking for people with experience of working in outdoor adventure with young people between 7-17 years old and the following:
- UKCC Level 1/2 Paddlesports Coach (or equivalent)
- 4* Canoe Assessment
All of our staff participate in a comprehensive induction & training programme at centre and there are post-season training opportunities to gain NGB qualifications in different activities. We are looking for people who can ideally start in April and commit to working the full season until late August 2019.
Why work for Acorn?
On top of the rewarding opportunity to help guests of all ages overcome fears and try new, exciting things, we can offer you:
- A competitive seasonal package with full board tented accommodation available
- The use of facilities and equipment in your free time
- Opportunities to complete training and gain NGB qualifications
- Personal development and progression – we love to promote from within!
- The experience of a lifetime, working in beautiful locations making lifelong friends.
Along with all this, Acorn will offer the Advanced Canoe Leader Award (5*) training free to River Leaders after successfully completing the full term of 2019 seasonal contract.
All applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a permanent UK National Insurance number and a UK bank account. We will be unable to take your application further before they have been obtained. We are unable to apply for a work visa/permit on behalf of an applicant.
A current Enhanced DBS Check or overseas equivalent is required for successful applicants.
