Job Details

We are looking for a chalet chef for this summer season in Les Carroz, French Alps. We are a family run chalet company and we offer summer craft classes from June to October. We work in partnership with tutors from all over the world, who are teaching their students embroidery, lacemaking, textile art and beadwork at our chalets.

Location: We are one hour drive from Geneva airport and we are located in the Grand Massif with great views over the mountains. 

What are we looking for: We are looking for a chalet chef with positive and fun personalilty, service and hospitality in their mind and a very good understanding of high standards in cleaning and working. 

We are a friendly company and the new chef should be a team player, adaptable to different guest types, hardworking, punctual, must have fun on travelling, must have a driver's license, should not be afraid of heights and learning new things. 

What is expected of you: 

Chalet Chef: The job description involves preparing starters, main courses and desserts in the morning for the evening, baking cakes for afternoon tea, keep the kitchen clean and tidy to required health and hygiene standards. You will be trained in cooking for all dietary requirements and allergies and the working hours are from 7.00am to 11.00am and 5.00pm to 8.00pm or 7.00am to 2.00pm. 

What we offer: We offer you a very good monthly salary, live in accommodation in Les Carroz, travel money to and from the resort, mountain insurance for outdoor activities, season summer pass for the Grand Massif (for walking and mountainbiking), tip is shared by the team. We offer pre-season training and training throughout the season. 

It would be lovely if you have an interest in craft but it is not a must as long as you are open minded. It is not a must to speak French either, but of course it would be great if you can at least order a beer or say thank you!

Les Carroz is not a party town, however there are pubs and restaurants and Les Carroz is a fully working French village with lots of things to do in the summer time. If you bring your own car, there are fantastic places to visit from the Mont Blanc in Chamonix, mountain lakes, go and do outdoor activities such as water rafting, biking, paragliding, paddle boarding etc.. 

We are a British registered company and you must have worked in the UK before to obtain a British National Insurance number.
