A chalet host couple needed to join us this winter at our luxury chalet situated in the pretty medieval village of Venosc sitting just below the major ski resort of Les Deux Alpes Chalet Morville is a modern, spacious, highly rated (see our Trip Advisor reviews) ski chalet with 5 en-suite bedrooms and great facilities. The chalet has an outdoor hot tub, sauna, boot / drying room as well as a fitness suite, cinema and games rooms.
The large kitchen is equipped to commercial standards with an equally large pantry . Laundry is done in house, but with professional washers and dryers. The chalet also has a spacious comfortable on-site staff apartment. Staff will duties will include catering for guests, serving a Continental Breakfast with optional hot option changing on a daily basis as well as baking a cake for the afternoon when guests return from the slopes. Dinner service consists of canapes followed by a three course evening meal on six days of their stay. Staff will also be responsible for menu creation, budgeting and a weekly shop. Chalet housekeeping to a high standard covering cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas is also key. Other duties will include some driving when required as well as help with ad-hoc jobs around the chalet
We are looking for a couple ideally with experience of hosting or working in a chalet or the hospitality industry. A friendly outgoing personality is essential to interact with our guests (including children). An ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility is important. Also an enthusiasm to maintain the chalet at a high standard. Working in a chalet environment can mean hard work and some long days, but we aim to balance this with plenty of time off to enjoy the local surroundings, some fabulous skiing and a chance to relax. Venosc is a picturesque village with a bar and a couple of restaurants and as such this is not an “in resort” job. However the telecabine from the village to Les Deux Alpes takes just 8 minutes.
We look to offer exceptional food for our guests, so ability to confidently cook to a high standard and experience of catering for up to 12 people is key. Commercial experience is preferred and any fine dining experience is desirable, but cookery school course training or a keen amateur chef would also be considered. Previous experience of hosting & housekeeping in a quality chalet or hotel environment as well as an eye for detail and an ability to maintain high standards are essential.
A UK or EU recognised driving licence is required for at least one of the couple. Any further driving qualifications would also be looked at favourably. Either an EU Passport / Visa, UK National Insurance number and address is essential. French language skills, Food Hygiene qualifications and Hot tub maintenance experience all welcome
