Chalet Hosts 21/22

Job Details

Important Information for UK Passport Holders

At the moment, we can only accept applications from EU passport holders (including dual nationals and Irish passport holders), those with French residency, and those in possession of a valid French work permit/working holiday visa. Procedures for employing UK passport holders post-Brexit have not been confirmed and unfortunately, we cannot accept any applications from UK passport holders until this is resolved.

The Role

We are after eager and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of catered chalet hosts. As a chalet host, you will be responsible for delivering an impeccable catered experience to the customers staying in your chalet. The role will require you to prepare breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner 6 days of the week for your guests as well as clean and maintain the chalet.

Most importantly however, will be your role in enhancing the experience of your guests. You are there to ‘host’ them, to advise them on your favourite runs or best places for powder. To help them find the quickest route to the ski-lifts and the best aprés and bar spots in the resort. Whilst your main role might be to prepare gorgeous meals (don’t worry, we’ll show you how!), you are there to pass on your passion and love for skiing to your customers to help ensure they love the Alps as much as you do.

What We Offer

As a Buildmyskitrip.com chalet host, you will receive a competitive salary (paid monthly). You will also receive the following…

  • Season ski pass
  • Equipment hire
  • Accommodation
  • Travel to and from resort
  • Full training
  • Medical insurance
  • Winter sports insurance

Why Us

Because we’re amazing and great at what we do. We know a company is only as good as its staff and we know that good staff are happy staff. If you’re happy in your role, chances are that our customers will be happy also. Therefore it is our job to ensure that you love working for us. With us, you will never be just a number. If you are dedicated and give your all, we will do the same. We are determined to create a friendly and happy work environment that you will love and ultimately ensure that your time as a chalet host with us, is one you will always remember (for good reasons of course!).

Am I right for the role?

We expect all of our hosts to be enthusiastic, dedicated and versatile individuals with great personable skills. If you’re comfortable and relaxed in your role, your guests will be also. Whilst previous experience as a chalet host isn’t essential, experience in this or a similar customer related role is preferred. As we provide training, we do not expect potential hosts to be culinary geniuses (not just yet!), however a passion and some knowledge / experience in cooking is essential (sometimes a recipe book can’t tell you everything). Knowledge of ski resorts and a basic understanding of French is preferred, but again is not essential. Being a chalet host can require hard work, but it isn’t rocket-science. It is a role that anyone can excel at, provided you have enough determination, dedication and passion to deliver your best. If you think this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

How Long?

We require chalet hosts for the full season running from the end of November until the end of April. Exact dates TBC.

Where?

Our chalet hosting roles are based in either Val Thorens, Tignes Le Lac or Val d'Isere for the duration of the season. You may also be required to work the odd week in other resorts for short periods.
