Black Diamond is a progressive chalet concept by Guerlain Chicherit, four times word free ski champion. Six unique private residences catered for from a central kitchen by our professional team. Why not do something completely different this season?

You will work alongside a kitchen team, lead by a Senior Chef, to deliver our unique ‘rolling’ catering package, including breakfast, snacks and dinner.  Over the course of the season there is the potential to be influential in the evolution and delivery of our product, and to work alongside the Black Diamond team to create and support additional pop up events, as well as helping the wider chalet team. 

The role is hard work but highly rewarding. Whilst we have extremely high expectations of our team, we also strive to create a positive environment for our staff. We structure our roles into realistic shifts so you can be sure you will enjoy a good balance between working and exploring everything the mountains have to offer. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Senior Chef in the Black Diamond kitchen to deliver our exciting signature menus for breakfast on 7 days and dinner services 5 days a week

  • Delivering breakfast service for up to 15 people unassisted

  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of a daily snack menu

  • Leading the kitchen in the absence of the Senior Chef

  • Assisting with the ordering, receiving and storage of all produce, stock rotation

  • Maintaining high levels of food hygiene and general kitchen cleanliness during all preparation and service tasks, completing HACCP records as required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous cheffing and professional kitchen experience, ideally at commis or demi chef de partie level

  • A real passion for modern dining experiences and the luxury ski industry

  • Flexibility – able to cope well with varied and changing tasks and environments

  • Excellent verbal communication - proficient in English

  • Organised and well-presented with an excellent eye for detail

  • EU Passport and/or the right to live and work in France

  • Ideal candidates would also have previously worked in a season role
