We are looking for a Kitchen Porter (KP) for Black Diamond Restaurant. Black Diamond is the top restaurant in Sainte Foy and most of our professional kitchen team is returning for another season. Sainte Foy is known for having some of the best off piste in the world. So, if you're tired of motorway resorts, you will love a season in the tranquil beauty and challenging powder fields of the Foy.
The Kitchen Porter reports into the Head Chef who will schedule all rotas and daily work tasks.Working as a Kitchen Porter involves working at a fast pace with high attention to detail andorganisational skills. They are the backbone to a successful kitchen operation – and their speed andaccuracy allows the kitchen to function properly.
The most successful Kitchen Porters are fast learners who actively develop their skills and are notafraid to ask senior chefs as many questions as necessary. The Kitchen Porter also needs to be able to remain calm while multi-tasking, as they are often calledupon to carry out many different orders simultaneously in a brief amount of time. Although the Kitchen Porter is one of the junior members of the kitchen staff, it is still an importantrole.
The decisions that the Kitchen Porter makes in his or her role will impact the quality of food that the kitchen produces and the speed at which guests are served. Like all members of the kitchen staff, the Kitchen Porter must maintain high standards of health andsafety, including personal hygiene. The Kitchen Porter must also perform many basic tasks of foodpreparation, organization and cleaning in the kitchen.
