Luxury B&B Chalet Host

Job Details

This role involves independently managing a single chalet sleeping 8 - 10 guests. Your job will include preparation of  breakfast and afternoon tea, daily housekeeping duties, weekly changeover cleaning and ensuring your guests are well cared for throughout their stay. On occasions where your guests have booked a chef you will also be required to host evening service.

You will work closely alongside your chalet driver, who will provide a daily slope-shuttle service for your guests. Whilst the smooth running of the chalet is your individual  responsibility, it is crucially important that you work together with the rest of the team to ensure the efficient and professional management of your guests.

(Please note that this position could involve some driving, depending on the candidate.)

You can generally expect to work a long morning, followed by the midday and afternoon off, before returning to your chalet hosting duties for the evening. On occasions when you don’t have evening service duties in your own chalet you may be required to help elsewhere. You will have one full day off per week.

As a guideline your role will include:

  • Preparing and hosting breakfast

    • presenting a full continental breakfast spread;

    • providing a simple cooked breakfast (bacon and eggs, served individually);

    • serving tea and coffee throughout;

    • preparing afternoon tea each day, to be left out for the guests at the end of the morning.

  • All housekeeping duties

    • daily cleaning of all bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas (including laundry areas and ski room);

    • ensuring the chalet is presented to a very high standard;

    • ensuring that any ‘in house' chalet laundry is completed on a daily basis;

    • ensuring that any maintenance issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

  • Evening hosting

    • lighting the fire and laying the dining table;

    • serving pre-dinner drinks and canapés/nibbles;

    • serving a three or four course evening meal;

    • presenting and serving wine throughout the evening.

  • Changeover cleaning

    • deep cleaning of the bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas;

    • preparing the chalet for the new guests;

    • stock control and ordering.

  • Ensuring a warm welcome to your guests on arrival and introducing them to their accommodation

    • Liaising with the management over lift pass requirements, ski hire equipment and ski schools bookings;

    • Making lunch reservations and booking extra activities (snowmobiling, massage etc.) throughout the week.
