The Hive Cookery School
*** One and Two Week Chalet Cookery Courses in the French Alps ***
Established by experienced Alpine seasonniares, The Hive Cookery School run courses from a typical Alpine chalet in the charming village of Plan Peisey, near Les Arcs in the French Alps. Courses run from June to October.
The curriculum on our courses doesn't just cover cookery, but all the skills you'll need to run a chalet efficiently and confidently throughout a season. We'll teach you how to make beds, clean windows, lay fires, plan menus, write shopping lists and so much more.
You'll be cooking each and every day of your course, preparing three-course meals, canapes, children's food and learning about dietary requirements. There's a lot to pack in, but each afternoon you'll have an hour or two free to enjoy a walk in the mountains or to relax in the cosy chalet. On your day or afternoon off, we can arrange any number of activities, from white water rafting and mountain biking, to horse riding and hiking.
Here at The Hive, we work closely with many reputable ski Tour Operators to help them recruit their chalet hosts for the season. We will show you how to tailor your CV and applications for winter jobs, to help ensure you get invited for interview with our partner Tour Operators and others. At least one major ski chalet company visits The Hive on each course talk to students and carry out interviews. Your experience at The Hive will maximise your chances of securing that all important job!
Prices include accommodation on a shared basis, linen and towels, all meals including wine with dinner, tea and coffee and return transfers from Geneva airport.
