This seasonal live-in position in the Outer Hebrides is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced commis chef, or an apprentice or student chef looking for hands on experience in a highly acclaimed restaurant which has featured in the Michelin Guide.
We're looking for an enthusiastic chef who is eager to learn and fine-tune their culinary skills as part of a hard working and talented kitchen team at Langass Lodge in North Uist.
Working under the Head Chef throughout our 2022 season - from April to November - you will prepare fresh ingredients to a very high standard for our fine dining restaurant which has a focus on local seafood and game.
We're looking for someone with a strong and consistent work ethic who has a passion for great food and is a good listener.
Our menu changes daily, giving you the opportunity to try your hand to many different ingredients, depending on what is fresh and available at the time.
We pride ourselves on creating a nice, relaxed working environment for our staff, and therefore someone who is fun with a good sense of humour would fit in well!
North Uist is a stunning island in the Outer Hebrides, with gorgeous beaches and good fishing. Therefore this position would be ideal for someone who enjoys the outdoors, from fishing to kayaking, surfing, swimming or hiking. There will be the opportunity to forage and explore on your day off, taking in the stunning sights of the Western Isles.
Accommodation is provided on top of your hourly rate in a shared staff house which is within driving distance from the hotel.
A driving license is preferred but not essential. Although it would allow you more freedom to explore on your day off.
