PGL are looking for Cambridge DELTA, Trinity Diploma TESOL, TEFLQ or equivalent qualified candidates to manage the delivery of our high-quality language programmes for visiting overseas groups, as an English as a Foreign Language Course Director.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to take their first steps into academic management or further develop their existing management skills, within a well established operation.
As an EFL Course Director for PGL, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and smooth running of our English as a Foreign Language product.
Taking full responsibility for the delivery of the academic programme, you will be expected to oversee the centre's teaching facilities and resources, in addition to managing all members of the teaching team. This includes allocating teachers to classes, communicating relevant information to your team and monitoring teachers' performance including probationary and end of contract reviews.
In addition, you will liaise with the Centre Management team and Guest Care team to facilitate and organise key elements of the overall programme, ensuring our guests experience a fun and safe environment during their stay.
The Course Director is the focal point for all Tour Leaders and Agents' academic queries, as such you will be required to deal with their enquiries and requests concerning course content.
You will be based on location at one of PGL’s activity centres, where our guests enjoy a mix of classroom-based EFL sessions, an outdoor activity programme (delivered by PGL Activity Instructor/Group Leaders) and off-site excursions. While you will be based at one of our Activity centres, you may also be needed to assist at our other centres as required.
We are looking for enthusiastic, fluent English speakers holding either a Cambridge DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL, or appropriate TEFLQ level qualification. Previous experience delivering in a classroom-style setting is essential, alongside excellent communication skills, organisation skills and the ability to work as part of a team and deliver results.
Previous experience in a similar summer school role, management qualifications such as the ILM I3 Award or ILM NVQ Level 3 management qualification or prior knowledge of how PGL centres are run and work on a daily basis, will enhance your application but are not essential.
Alongside a monthly wage of up to £2,920, PGL provides a thrilling, supportive environment, encouraging our staff to have a great time while fostering their future career.
Your uniform is also provided for you, and we offer a 20% discount to our colleagues in all our on-site shops.
Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, which PGL will pay for. You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for employment with PGL. PGL is committed to the principles of equality and diversity and welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
