The Residential Assistant will oversee the behaviour of Bell Cambridge students accommodated in Homerton College residence, with specific responsibility for the security and safeguarding of students aged 16 and 17 in the residence. The start date for this role is 1stJuly 2018 and will be for 6-7 weeks.
The post holder will deal with weekend arrivals and departures, induction to Homerton Residence, student queries, ensuring under 18s adhere to guidelines and curfew and generally ensuring the safety and security of all Bell Cambridge Homerton residence students and Homerton residence property, together with other general duties as required.
The post holder will report to the Residence Supervisor, and both will liaise with Bell team (Student Services Manager, School Administrator and School Principal).
Work alongside and report to Residential SupervisorEnsure smooth operation of student arrivals and departures, in liaison with Accommodation department, Student Services Manager and School AdministratorInduct students to the residence, including fire proceduresEnsure Residence Rules are adhered to and student discipline is maintained, in liaison with Residence Supervisor and Student Services ManagerEnsure welfare, safety and security of students at the residence in liaison with the SchoolEnsure students aged 16 and 17 follow Under 18s guidelines and Safeguarding procedures, including adhering to 23:00 curfewDeal with students’ queries and provide information as required in liaison with SchoolEnsure security of Homerton College residence and furnishings/ propertyBe on call available for emergency contact in case of incidentReport incidents or concerns immediately to Supervisor and Student Services Manager or School Principal and record all such incidentsAdhere to all procedures in operation and any other general duties as required
